Anyway, she lied to the cast, crew and producers the whole time about her age. She never revealed her real age. Well, eventually the truth was discovered. Turns out, Natalie Schafer was 13 years older than Jim Backus, who played her husband on the show.

There’s more though…Within Schafer’s contract was a special clause that said she would not have any close-up shots. This was in order to conceal any wrinkles. She did not want a single wrinkle to be seen! Also, it was so no one would even suspect the 13 year age gap between the husband and wife characters. Incredible! Who would have guessed!
