Not many knew this, but the actor who played Nellie’s brother, Willie Oleson, was actually Melissa Gilbert’s adopted brother. Melissa Gilbert played Laura Ingalls and Jonathan Gilbert played Willie. Wild, right? Do you think cast members also felt bewildered by this one? Sadly, the two no longer have a relationship with one another. In Melissa Gilbert’s autobiography she revealed that he moved away from California in his 20s and they haven’t been in touch since. Apparently, he works as a stockbroker in New York.
