During that first week, the baby deer actually slept right next to Sasnauskas’s very own bed on a T-shirt he set up for her. Actually, the fawn got so attached to his shirt, she needed it to fall asleep. At the time, Sasnauskas didn’t even realize, but he was a lifesaver.

However, the fawn seemed to understand what Sasnauskas was to her and how much he meant. Yes, she immediately grew attached to her adopted family. In fact, she trailed Sasnauskas all day like he was her own mother. At the time, she was still very weak, thus, he needed to always watch her closely.
