Nature is terrifying! Okay, so that’s an apparent declaration, but her attempt to swim across a massive freezing lake with her cubs is still driving us insane. Whatever the reason, she was confident that she would make it. A minor spoiler: she made it across. Her cubs, on the other hand, were not so fortunate. As previously stated, the bears may have starved to death, and crossing the lake was the only option. Nature may be wild, but there is always logic behind what we think is insane. The bears are being swept away, but how will they be split up?

An Act Of Chaos
Let us now immerse ourselves in our story. Although this mother bear had raised her cubs, she had not yet taught them to swim. To survive, the family must still travel across Lake Vygozero. The cubs were clinging to their mother for dear life. However, she quickly realized that if she couldn’t shake them free, none of them would survive. It couldn’t have been an easy decision. But survival isn’t easy, and this mother wasn’t about to lose her ship. Did she realize she had signed a death warrant for her cubs? She literally put them in a sink or swim situation!
